This RecipeFrame Frequently Asked Questions page collects the common questions about this plugin. The short answers below match the way the plugin works on your WordPress site today.
RecipeFrame Frequently Asked Questions
Read the questions in order. They cover what the plugin requires, what stays on your site, and where to ask for help. If your question is not listed, use this plugin’s WordPress.org support forum. There is no separate support site. You can also use the contact form. Name the plugin and the screen you are on.
These answers do not change the GPL license in the plugin license.txt file, and they do not replace the company terms for accounts and checkout at https://grandslambert.com/terms-of-use/. Privacy details stay on the Privacy Policy page for this plugin. This RecipeFrame Frequently Asked Questions page is the short form of that same behavior. It does not add a feature the plugin does not already have. If a step on the Help page disagrees with an answer here, follow the Help page and ask through the contact form.
Does RecipeFrame require Elementor?
No. Recipes, the editor, and the fallback recipe card work on their own. Install Elementor for the recipe widgets. Install Elementor Pro for Theme Builder templates, display conditions, and Loop Grid queries. You can publish and display recipes without either one.
When does RecipeFrame contact Spoonacular or Edamam?
Only after an administrator saves that service’s credentials, selects it as the nutrition source, and clicks Generate from ingredients or Test connection. Visitors never trigger those requests. The built-in catalog is the default and does not call either service.
Spoonacular receives ingredient lines and a serving count. The API key is sent in a request header. Edamam receives the recipe title, ingredient lines, and yield. Spoonacular is not contacted, and its public credit link is not shown, until the administrator agrees to that link on Recipes → Settings → Nutrition.
Can I switch from another recipe plugin?
Yes. Go to Recipes → Import. RecipeFrame can import from WP Recipe Maker, Recipe Card Blocks (WPZOOM), Create (formerly Mediavine Create), WP Delicious, and Cooked. Use Dry run first. Imports create new RecipeFrame recipes. Parent posts that used a source shortcode or block can be rewritten to [gs_recipe id=”…”]. The source data stays unless you choose to draft the originals.
What does RecipeFrame Plus add?
Plus adds a shopping cart, a grocery list, and a saved-recipe box for logged-in visitors. Guests keep a cart in a cookie, and logging in merges that cart into the account cart. Those features stay off without an active Plus license. Get Plus downloads the add-on and then asks you to activate it. It does not activate Plus for you. The download sends the license key and the product name, not your recipes.
