Post Type Information Frequently Asked Questions

This Post Type Information Frequently Asked Questions page collects the common questions about this plugin. The short answers below match the way the plugin works on your WordPress site today.

Post Type Information Frequently Asked Questions

Read the questions in order. They cover what the plugin requires, what stays on your site, and where to ask for help. If your question is not listed, use this plugin’s WordPress.org support forum. There is no separate support site. You can also use the contact form. Name the plugin and the screen you are on.

These answers do not change the GPL license in the plugin license.txt file, and they do not replace the company terms for accounts and checkout at https://grandslambert.com/terms-of-use/. Privacy details stay on the Privacy Policy page for this plugin. This Post Type Information Frequently Asked Questions page is the short form of that same behavior. It does not add a feature the plugin does not already have. If a step on the Help page disagrees with an answer here, follow the Help page and ask through the contact form.

How do I choose what shows in At a Glance?

Go to Settings → Post Type Information, check the custom post types and taxonomies you want, and save. Reload the Dashboard. Nothing is added until you select it. Built-in posts, pages, categories, and tags are not in the lists.

What does each row show?

A post type row shows the published count and links to that list. A taxonomy row shows the term count, including empty terms, and links to the term screen. The numbers are the counts WordPress already stores. The plugin does not send them anywhere.

Why is a type I selected missing?

The row appears only if your user can edit that post type or manage that taxonomy. An unregistered type is skipped. Reload the Dashboard after you save. If the plugin that registers the type is inactive, WordPress will not have that type to count.

Does this plugin have Plus or send data off the site?

No. There is no Plus add-on and no license key. Post Type Information does not contact GrandSlambert or any other service, and it does not collect visitor information. Deleting the plugin removes the saved selections and leaves your posts and terms in place.

Where can I get help?

Questions can be asked on this plugin’s WordPress.org support forum. There is no separate support site. You can also use the contact form.
