BookFrame Plus adds a personal reading shelf, a read status, and visitor ratings to the free BookFrame plugin. It is a companion to BookFrame, not a replacement. The books, covers, and catalog stay in BookFrame. Plus stores the shelf, the status, and the score on your own site.
What BookFrame Plus adds
A logged-in visitor can save a book to a reading list and come back to that shelf later. The shelf is theirs. It is not a public list, and it is not sent to GrandSlambert with a license check. Guests are not given a shelf. The button asks them to log in, the same way the other reader tools do.
Read status sits beside the save. A reader can mark a title as want to read, reading, or read, and the book stays on the shelf. That status is useful on a library site where people track what they have finished. It lives in your database with the saved book.
Visitor ratings use a 1 to 10 score from a logged-in reader. Each person keeps their own score, and the book can show an average. The average is calculated from ratings stored on your site. It is not a review imported from another service.
You can place the tools with shortcodes or with Elementor. The shortcodes are the shelf button, the status button, the rating, and the bookshelf. Elementor adds a Reading List Button, a Read Status Button, and a Visitor Rating widget. A Loop Grid can use the reading-list query to show the saved books. Use those on the single book template, and put the bookshelf shortcode on a page of its own.
License and requirements
BookFrame Plus requires WordPress 6.4, PHP 8.1, and the free BookFrame plugin. Front-end Plus features stay off without an active license. Installing the files does not turn the features on. You activate the plugin, then save the key. License activation and update checks send the license key, your site URL, and a site instance ID. They do not include the books, shelves, or ratings.
Questions about BookFrame Plus can be sent through the contact form. Plans on this page are one site, 10 sites, or unlimited, annual or lifetime.
