Effective October 20, 2026. This RecipeFrame Privacy Policy covers the RecipeFrame plugin on your WordPress site, and RecipeFrame Plus when you install it. The policy for grandslambert.com accounts and checkout is at https://grandslambert.com/privacy-policy/. Use the company policy for purchases and accounts. Use this page for what the plugin stores and sends on your own WordPress site.
RecipeFrame Privacy Policy
Keep the two policies separate while you read. The company page describes grandslambert.com accounts and checkout. This RecipeFrame Privacy Policy describes the copy of the plugin on your WordPress site. A person browsing your public pages is not performing an administrator save in the Dashboard, and an administrator save is the action this page talks about when a request leaves the site.
If you need to ask a question about this policy, use the contact form. Do not publish a license key on a public page. If this plugin has no license key, there is nothing to publish. The sections below name what stays in your database and what, if anything, an administrator request can send.
Recipes stay on your site
Recipes, ingredients, steps, photos, and nutrition you type in stay in your WordPress database. The built-in nutrition catalog estimates values on your site and does not contact any outside service. Visitors do not send recipe content to GrandSlambert. Publishing a recipe and viewing it on the front end both use data that is already stored on the site.
The built-in catalog is the default nutrition source. It does not need an API key. If you never connect Spoonacular or Edamam, RecipeFrame still keeps the recipe and any nutrition you generate from that catalog. Visitors do not trigger a nutrition request to either optional service.
Spoonacular
Spoonacular is optional. It runs only after an administrator saves an API key, agrees to show the public credit link, and clicks Generate from ingredients or Test connection. RecipeFrame sends ingredient lines and a serving count to https://api.spoonacular.com/recipes/parseIngredients. The API key is sent in a request header. Visitors do not trigger this request.
Spoonacular is not contacted, and its public credit link is not shown, until the administrator agrees to that link on Recipes → Settings → Nutrition. Saving a key without that agreement does not start the request. The request also does not include unrelated posts, comments, or visitor accounts.
Spoonacular terms: https://spoonacular.com/food-api/terms. Privacy: https://spoonacular.com/privacy. Your use of Spoonacular is also covered by those terms. The API key you enter belongs to your Spoonacular account.
Edamam
Edamam Nutrition Analysis is optional and paid. It runs only after an administrator saves an App ID and App Key and clicks Generate from ingredients or Test connection. RecipeFrame sends the recipe title, ingredient lines, and yield to https://api.edamam.com/api/nutrition-details. Visitors do not trigger this request.
Edamam terms: https://www.edamam.com/terms/api/. Privacy: https://www.edamam.com/privacy/. The App ID and App Key belong to your Edamam account. RecipeFrame does not send visitor accounts or other site content with that request. Choosing the built-in catalog leaves Edamam unused.
Downloading RecipeFrame Plus
Recipes → Get Plus runs only when an administrator submits a license key. That request goes to https://grandslambert.com/wp-json/gs-ls/v1/package. It sends the license key and the product name. It does not send recipes, media, or visitors. The plugin then asks you to activate Plus yourself.
Downloading Plus does not activate it. You activate RecipeFrame Plus yourself in WordPress. Visitors browsing the site do not start Get Plus. The download request is an administrator action, and it is separate from later license checks.
After RecipeFrame Plus is active, license activation and update checks send the license key, your site URL, and a site instance ID to the GrandSlambert license server. Those checks do not include the content stored on your site.
RecipeFrame Plus on this site
After Plus is active, shopping lists and saved recipes stay on your site. Guests keep a cart in a cookie. Logging in merges that cart into the account cart. The saved-recipe box is for logged-in visitors. Cart, grocery list, and saved-recipe features stay off without an active Plus license. Recipe content is not included in the license check.
